Who We  Are

Our Story
and Values

Our History

The Center of Hope Village, Incorporated, was born from a legacy of compassion and a deep desire to uplift underserved communities. Karen Harris, founder and CEO, took a trip home in Mississippi in 2000 after years as a military spouse in Virginia. What she saw upon her return- growing disparities, limited access to education, and families struggling to find support- ignited a powerful calling to give back.

Karen's mother had long dreamed of building a place where every person, regardless of their background, could find care, dignity, and opportunity. As a foster mom, pastor, and advocate for the disadvantaged, she modeled a life of service. Karen, inspired by that legacy, combined her nursing background and a Master's degree in management to create a vision rooted in healing, empowerment, and strategic growth.

In 2025, that vision took shape as The Center of Hope Village, Incorporated, a community hub offering STEM education, after-school tutoring, adult CPR and life support training, and wraparound services for families.

Our Vision

The Center of Hope Village, Incorporated, envisions a thriving community where every individual—child, adult, and family—has access to the tools, education, and support needed to reach their fullest potential. Guided by a legacy of compassion and faith, we strive to break cycles of poverty, bridge gaps in opportunity, and create pathways to stability and success.

Through holistic programs that nurture the mind, body, and spirit—ranging from STEM and literacy education to health training and community resources—we aim to build a sustainable village of empowerment, hope, and transformation. Our vision is to be a beacon of light in Humphreys County, Mississippi, and beyond, inspiring communities to rise, rebuild, and flourish together.
